House rules, formally stated

Terms of Use

Effective date: July 14, 2026.

Welcome to The Harbor Post. By using this website you agree to these terms. They are short, and we have tried to write them the way we would want to read them.

1. What we provide

The Harbor Post offers free, browser-based versions of classic games — currently Klondike Solitaire, Sudoku, and Mahjong tile matching — together with written guides. The games are for entertainment. Play requires no account, no payment, and no download; nothing on this site is for purchase, and no game involves anything of monetary value.

2. Your license to use the site

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the site for ordinary, non-commercial play. Please do not copy the site wholesale, republish our text as your own, frame the games inside another service, probe or disrupt the site, or use automated tools to scrape it beyond what search engines ordinarily do.

3. Our content

The name The Harbor Post, the wordmark, the site's design, its artwork, and its written content are ours. The underlying games — Klondike, Sudoku, Mahjong — are classics that belong to everyone; our particular implementations and text belong to us.

4. Scores and saved preferences

Statistics and settings are stored in your browser's local storage and can be erased by you at any time. They have no monetary value, confer nothing, and may be lost if you clear your browser data or switch devices. Please treat a fine Solitaire streak as its own reward.

5. No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep it accurate, fast, and error-free, but we cannot promise perfection, and we may change, suspend, or retire features at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and our total liability to you for any claim related to the site will not exceed ten U.S. dollars — which is, we note, ten dollars more than the site costs to use.

6. Third-party services

Pages may load web fonts, analytics, or clearly labelled advertising from third parties, as described in the Privacy Policy. Those services are governed by their own terms.

7. Changes and governing law

If we update these terms, we will change the effective date above; continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the site's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
